7 bathroom cleaning hacks for a sparkling clean toilet
Your bathroom should never look like a post-apocalyptic war zone. A dirty toilet and a rusted shower is not something you want to show to your friends and family. Use our effective bathroom cleaning hacks to keep your bathroom and toilet looking clean and smelling good. Here are 7 essential bathroom tricks.
1 Stop slamming down the toilet seat
God knows men usually don’t put the toilet seat down gently, they usually slam it down without realizing it. The noise can get extremely annoying, especially in the middle of the night. Here is a trick: cut an old wine cork in 4 pieces. Then glue your pieces of cork onto the underside of the toilet seat. You can also use 4 felt pads. Now enjoy how this trick muffles the sound when your significant other slams down the toilet seat. This trick will also help stabilize the seat.
2 Emergency emails and calls in the shower
Did you know you could still use your touchscreen through a plastic bag? Entertain your children while they take a bath or save some precious time in the morning by looking at your emails in the shower. You can now multitask in a waterproof environment. Why not watch a movie while cleaning your bathroom?
3 Toilet paper holder
Have you ever felt bad about leaving a very unpleasant smell in someone else’s bathroom? If you can’t find the bathroom spray, stuff the toilet paper roll with dryer sheets. Just remove the toilet paper holder and wrap it with 3 or 4 sheets before putting it back on. The toilet paper will release a fresh smell when rolling.
4 Keep your toilet brush clean
Add a little bit of all-purpose cleaner or bleach into the bottom of your toilet brush holder. It helps to keep your brush clean at all times. Also, give your brush time to dry by leaving it in between the bowl and the toilet seat for a few hours.
5 Homemade toilet cleaner
Make your own to save money. Simply mix rubbing alcohol, essential oils and water in a spray bottle. It’s also helpful to add few drops of food colouring to know where you are spraying in the bowl and make sure you are getting a complete coverage.
6 Funky smells in the bathroom
If you start smelling something funky in the bathtub, it could be your shower curtain. Simply remove it and wash it in the washing machine. Especially when your curtains have been there for years.
7 Unclog your toilet
There are many different ways to unclog your toilet bowl, but we suggest you use a mop. Wrap and seal a plastic bag around the end, and then use it as a normal plunger. Push it in an up and down motion that is going to push down as much air as possible.
