Matthew McConaughey’s breakout role was when he starred in the movie Dazed and Confused. His laid-back character stole the show and, by the looks of this school portrait, he was more like the character than we thought when he was a teenager.

McConaughey wore a choker necklace in his sophomore yearbook photo at Longview High School in Texas in 1986. He also rocked a killer tan. We can admit that we would have crushed on him hard if we went to the same school as him. He already had a star quality about him.

Jennifer Lawrence is an Academy Award-winning actress. Rolling Stone dubbed her the “coolest chick in Hollywood”. Yet, before she became famous, she was just an ordinary 8th grader at Kammerer Middle School in Louisville, Kentucky.

She clearly had a thing for funky earrings. In spite of this, she finished school two years early and graduated with a 3.9, so she got beauty and brains. Lawrence set her sights on Hollywood and never looked back, landing her breakout role in the drama Winter’s Bone. It’s so cool to see her looking like a normal 14-year-old girl instead of a glamorous movie star.
