Place it on your bedside table immediately after you’ve turned off your alarm so you’re not tempted to scroll through your Instagram for half an hour. An unplugged morning helps you start your day in a smooth way, to recenter your ideas, to concentrate on yourself and to focus on the present moment.

Use a diffuser or scented candles

Place a few scented candles or a pretty ultrasonic diffuser in your bathroom or on your dressing table. Then, light some matches for your candles or turn on your diffuser before starting your beauty ritual. Opt for comforting and energizing smells that you absolutely love. This will cheer you up as well as help you wake up completely and to start off your day on the right foot.

Use a tongue cleaner

Nobody leaves their home without brushing their teeth, however many go out the door without properly cleaning their tongue. Yet, your tongue needs to be thoroughly cleaned. Using a tongue cleaner also helps get rid of toxins according to Ayurveda. There are many models available, choose the one you like the most and the one that meets your needs.

Drink lemon infused water

No need to reiterate the importance of drinking water. Start your day with a large glass of water, warm or cold, that contains a bit of lemon juice, apple cider vinegar or nothing at all. This is an excellent way to make your body happy right at the start of your day. This will help with your digestion and will wake up your metabolism.

Meditate

It only needs to be for a few minutes. Start with 5 and gradually increase the time or stick to 5 minutes if it satisfies you. You can even use one of the numerous meditation apps available to help you concentrate. Do a few breathing exercises if you feel the need. You will feel refreshed and ready to start your busy day.

Yoga

Wake up your body in a gentle way and welcome a new day with a morning yoga session. Adapt your practice according to your preferences: sun salutation, YouTube video tutorial, inversions, various postures. You can also choose to do a few simple stretches if you’re not a fan of yoga.

Have a healthy breakfast

Most influencers love to start their day with a delicious and nutritious smoothie. Whether it is green or not, it is always filled with delicious ingredients. Some add protein, others some superfoods and others prefer a very simple and basic smoothie. The combinations are endless and this type of breakfast is perfect to have on the go. This step should be non-negotiable for your morning routine worthy of a wellness influencer.

Move

In the morning, start with some kind of physical activity. Starting the day by moving is perfect to rejuvenate yourself and boost your energy levels. This will positively affect your productivity and your mood. Go for a run, go to a HIIT class, or do any sport you like. Don’t feel like doing an intense workout? Go walk your dog.

Dry brushing

This activity is pretty uncommon in North America but it is a great habit to add to your morning routine. Brush your body before you hop in the shower with the help of a brush made for this in repetitive movements always brushing towards your heart. Dry brushing stimulates the lymphatic system as well as exfoliating the skin.

Play some music

Some will prefer to start their day off with energizing beats, others with softer music to gently wake up but the fact remains that a Spotify morning playlist will put you in a good mood and motivate you to wake up. Make your daily route to work more productive by listening to inspiring and informative podcasts.
